So I am writing a chess book

Hey, Tony Rotella, you are an actual chess book writer! Why do you say it's not worth the effort? Your book, "The Killer Sicilian: Fighting 1 e4 with the Kalashnikov", is listed everywhere and sell for $19.99 each, bringing you lots of profit from all around the world!
To me it is worth the effort. I don't care if I make 20 dollars off the book. I just want to do it for the experience and learn something while I do it. I do not bound myself by the views or opinions of others. If I did I would not ever ever be successful in whatever I do.

Also I just started playing chess in December. I feel I have improved a lot. Especially over the board. I play in the open sections as I did in Reno a few weeks ago and as I am doing this weekend in Santa Rosa.
There are many different types of chess books in the libraries and bookstores. There are theoretical books, about specific openings and full of annotated games. These are for serious players, with FIDE ratings of at least 2200. People with lower ratings cannot digest these. There are books for absolute beginners, where all chess rules are explained and some basic openings. I like the chess puzzles books. These are like sudoku and crossword books but with chess boards. They are for casual players that know all the rules already. I assume you are going to write a chess puzzles book. You should like the list of games I posted earlier on this thread.
No. Not a puzzles book. I am writing a book for someone of my skill level or slightly higher. Its sort of like a tactics puzzle book but a positional play book. I am probably the first to say I like positional play more than tactics! And there are not many books that are for players of my level that have positional puzzles or positional ideas in them.
However some of the stuff I will have in the book includes tactics so you get a fair bit of both.
