Ban all Russian IPs

#31 Alright. I mean, sorry, I just don't know what to say. There are some theories which are too difficult to argue because how stupid they are. Like nanobots in the vaccines controlling people. Or this. You'd better use alu foil around your head I guess...

I think the best choice is not to talk about this war anymore

Nope.
For example, you're German.Does it mean you're responsible for Hitler's acts? No.
Just like that.Russian people are not responsible for Putin's acts.
P.E: For those who will say "Then they shouldn't have elected Putin as president": No one told them Putin was going to declare war on Ukraine.
@glbert please read this and sorry for the ping

What is this argument? Do you realize that ww2 ended 75 years ago? Of course today Germans are not guilty in nazis crimes!

But putins russia does exist here and now. And russians do indeed support their government. Of course they are responsible! Exactly like Germans of 1930-40s.

i have read this "argument" several times now, but all it does is show that you have no idea how ww2 is seen in germany. it's generally accepted that the germans in the 30s and 40s were absolutely responsible. and even a lot of germans born after the war felt and feel guilty about it. germans generally treat their historical failures as a responsibility in the presence.

Your statement that “russians do indeed support their government. “ If that is a universal statement then it contradicts with the fact that there are examples of Russian chess players that wrote a letter demanding Putin to “Stop the war!”. At best you can say SOME support the government but not ALL.
Oh, I think 70% is a "major support", even though there is small minority with other opinion. Anyway, their "opinion" does not really matter as long as it does not influence course of actions of your country. So, sanctions against the whole russia and russians sounds reasonable to me. Maybe you would prefer to live in better world with better government but it is as it is.
Welp, an official blog was released with Lichess' position on the conflict. Thread resolved.
