Update — Notification Changes

Hilariously, that notification worked just fine. And I just sorted out that at least one of the earlier mystery notifications does indeed appear to have been for a forum mention (definitely a new mention and no identification of it in tray).

The tray appeared normal (no spinning and older notes were visible) except for showing nothing regarding the mystery notifications. Despite this most recent mention appearing and remaining there, the previous 2 notifications are still not listed in the tray.

Ah good. The discard 2 out of every 3 notifications feature is working as designed.

Is the current locked bell preference under new inbox message going to stay locked in lichess intent?

Suggestion: i can attention-postpone or skip red badges on that bell icon in my page, however i find the sound of it something that should be made independent of the visual signal.. (don't make it blinking though, that would trigger my reptile attention vigilance, what a fly is moving... let's go see...).

and no, disabling sound would also disable the compensating sound of the moves on the board.... (compensating for lack of physicality, our brains evolved with some assumptions of the environments signals, and works best that way).

This isn't about notifications, but all the arrows from all my studies have disappeared. There is a forum thread started today on this, so others are having same issue. I am pretty well crushed right now. Do really love Lichess.

and since this thread is made sticky.. and the lobby has lost any means to be aware of existing new thread outside what our past likes or following might induce in our timeline small box, here is a good place to centralize ongoing snafus..

fear is that loading old studies with stored drawings, act as erasers in themselves of the drawing data on the server copy. For when that drawing bug gets fixed, will there be a way to recuperate those studies that authors may have visited during the erasing period (REC SYNC and Reload events all erase the drawing by themselves).

First thought was that it was only an input problem.. but it also appears to erase upon first loading by study authors.. some authors have long standing sets of carefully designed pedagogical studies with graphic work put into them.

possible hope for recuperation of past user work:
Does lichess have serve snapshots of user data they can go back too, post fixes? otherwise there might need for the authors to re-upload their saved full study PGNs, which do, at least in the past, keep the drawing information with them. but not some under-board stuff (this might be old news).

Maybe lichess could put another sticky about this other problem... with the loss of lobby awareness of important thread.. we witness a multiplication of many threads about same topic. I had stopped complaining about this.. but this might be correlated to that.. Somewhere some awareness of discussions might be good. Blog is not a place where such inherently interactive (from the start) text things are likely to be.
