New puzzles are much harder for me

I just failed this puzzle on move 2, so I ran my continuation (25 Bg5) and the 'winning' continuation (25 Rc1) through an engine. It was a pretty negligible difference between the 2 and both were suggested as possible good moves to play.

How are we meant to 'solve' puzzles like this, where there is more than 1 valid continuation and we've already picked up the additional material earlier in the puzzle?

@MoistvonLipwig that’s what I mean, my puzzle rating would be lower not necessarily my game rating, but I prefer to not have them timed, I believe it's more beneficial just like I wouldn’t give myself a time limit for analyzing a game or position so I can understand what is actually going on and go deeper into something I don't understand yet.

@Sybotes I feel I had several puzzles without clear winning moves, many of them less than a knights advantage one of them it was like a 0,9 point advantage -.-
I am not saying the new puzzles are bad they actually feel like more realistic over the board situations so I think they will probably give you more in game improvement than the old ones.

All know is that the new puzzles are not for beginners.

@max123 #11 Stockfish 8 gives 0.00 for 2.Bg5 and +3 growing for 2.Rc1.

The difference (which i also did not see, my choice would have been Bg5, idea Rh4, but i cheated and played your move Rc1 hahahaharr) is the control of the c-file after Rc1. if Bg5 then the white pieces are in such a weird way uncoordinated that black has full compensation for the piece.

Its hard to accept this, but this is simply the end of the comfort zone. Knock on your head and say to yourself, "i just learned a new weird chess motif: A Bh4 trapped by a black pawn chain on kingside".

#13 At least the puzzles I see aren't for beginners! But I'm rated 2100+ so my experience might be a bit extreme.

In my experience you get a little bit of everything. Some puzzles are super hard, while some only want you to grab a hanging piece.

They need to add the Easy Medium Hard options back...sometimes I don't want to do all hard ones, and these are all hard so far. Where did the mating pattern puzzles go?

In the past you would lose points if instead of mate of 3 you chose mate in 4 which was ridiculous
Only one thing remains :to get a blitz mode in tactics:) where there will be a correlation between your tactics rating the problems rating your time of solving the puzzle and the middle term of correct solutions of the previous users trying this puzzle

@MorningCoffee You still lose points for incorrectly choosing the wrong mating sequence. I found a mate in 3 and lost quite a few points because I overlooked the mate in 2.
