for red, shift + right click works but pops the right click menu
for yellow, shift + alt + right click works but pops the right click menu
for blue, alt + right click does nothing
is there a way to fix / make this simpler?

mouse is fine
i just tested on chromium and seems like red and yellow work as expected (without popping the right click menu) but the blue combination still does nothing
since i would rather not use a different browser, the question remains, has someone made it work for firefox?
blue is alt + left click, maybe that's the problem
just tried on both browsers, alt + neither of the clicks does anything

Oh, you're talking about making circles or arrows on the chessboard. For me on Linux Mint 18.2 & Firefox 53.0.3 64bit.
Combining the left Shift keyboard keys with one of the mouse clicks.
Green Shift+Left Button
Red Shift+Right Button
Blue Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Left Button
Yellow Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Right Button
There are other combinations. Basically green is default and you do not need to press a keyboard key.
just right click or shift + left click makes green just fine

the problem is having to use right click with shift
right click + Shift does make a red circle but also pops up the right click menu to refresh the page etc
right click + Shift + Alt makes yellow but with the same problem

Red Shift+Double click right mouse and the menu disappears.
Maybe it would have been better to be able to cycle through the colors simply by pressing the right mouse button. Press it once you get it in green, press it another time, and it changes color and so on. Press it one last time and it erases that arrow or circle.
Or example right click and get a pop up always on top color choice menu or a drop down menu. Select the color as you make your circles or arrows. It stays on that color until you pick another color.
