Advanced Chess Books

Hello!

I’ve been playing chess (with the intent to improve, not just a game against a friend), for about a year now. I’ve made it to 1800+ without the assistance of any chess books, mainly just watching Masters and analyzing games.

Not too long ago I got Dvoretsky’s Endgame manual and a book on the Caro-Kann. Just from reading them a little bit I’ve already improved quite a bit (though Dvoretsky’s is definitely difficult). I regret not have buying chess books when I began for improvement, but now that I want to buy chess books I’m not sure what I should get.

I definitely don’t want to get a beginner chess book, and even some intermediate chess books, because I don’t want them to be a waste of time if I’ve already got most of the stuff down. I don’t really want an opening book until I become 2200+, I can learn about as deep as I need to from online videos (though I have very limited opening knowledge). I already think Dvoretsky’s Endgame manual will suffice my Endgame needs, but are there any good chess books that I should look into?

Thanks!
I recommend "The Amateur's Mind" by IM Jeremy Silman. It focuses on general rules of positional chess and helps you learn from common mistakes in Amateurs' thinking processes.
I recommend "Chess Structures: A Grandmaster Guide " by GM Mauricio Flores. It focuses on understanding pawn structures and what plans you can develop based on your pawn structure.
You mentioned that you play the Caro-Kann and he also discusses the Caro Kann pawn formation in his books. You can deepen your understanding of your openings with this book.

Flores also did 2 lectures at the Saint Louis Chess Club:

Consider buying some games collections. The Life and Games of Mikhail Tal is my favorite chess book, but there are many others: Fischer's My 60 Memorable Games, Shirov's Fire on the Board, etc.

Dvoretsky is a very difficult book.. I hope you have more luck with it than I did.
